Leoville Barton 2020 released
Hot on the heels of Angélus, Leoville Barton is being offered by the international trade at £730 per 12×75, a 12% increase on the 2019 opening price of £650 per case.
Release volumes are reportedly 25% down, representing a similar reduction in production.
The 2020 Léoville Barton received a barrel range score of 96-97 points from James Suckling who said it is “excellent, as expected.” Followers of Suckling will no doubt find value in today’s offer.
Meanwhile, Jane Anson (Decanter) awarded it 94 points but noted that it “may be up scored when in bottle”.
For Jancis Robinson MW, who gave it 18 points, the wine has “lovely, confident, persistent finish” and had, “such grace”.
When Neal Martin releases his scores next week – if the wine receives 95 points and above, this will be deemed a very good buy indeed.
